Venice re-discovers an abandoned island of the lagoon, a natural heritage for its biodiversity. Venissa estate is located in Mazzorbo, a venetian island of the north lagoon, connected by a long bridge to the colourful Burano. Six acres of land that look from afar the beaches of Lido, dominated by an historic bell tower standing in the middle of the vineyard. The intention is to bring back nature, colours and typical flavours with a restaurant, accommodation, training center for education and agri-environmental research.
The design concern the reuse of the buildings and the ancient walled vineyard where the historical Venetian grapevine was planted on 15th century. After the renovation of the strongly degrade building, Venissa restaurant looks thought its large windows to the outside terrace and the vineyards, dominating the estate from its vantage point.
