D Casa, la Repubblica
An old farm building, used during the years as sharecropper dwelling, and its original masonry, highlighted by the choice of exposed bricks and by the optimization of the spaces distribution, to adapt them to the needs of today’s life. On the ground floor everything is communicating, through passages that replace doors and make the connection more fluid, the path between the various spaces and functions of the house.
The innovative elements are linked to objects and functionality: the structure remains raw but adapts to the contemporary lifestyle by welcoming valuable pieces characterized by a classic design, by historical companies like Vitra, like the console, the rocking chair and the entrance’s hanger, all designed by Eames.
